Amy Levine
Amy Levine grew up in and around New York City, a highly walkable environment that sparked her early interest in urban life. She later studied progressive cities in college and interned with Berkeley’s Community Development Department, experiences that shaped her long-standing interest in planning and the built environment.
Amy practiced law for 32 years, primarily representing public school districts, where she developed a deep understanding of how public entities operate. She lives in downtown Petaluma and is passionate about how the built environment shapes community life.
In 2025, Amy retired from full-time law practice, began working with Urban Chat, and launched the Vacancy Project. She joined the board in 2026 and is focused on revitalizing Petaluma’s downtown and strengthening the City’s long-term economic resilience.
