Join us for the second Follow the Clucking Money workshop!
The Revenue Nest: Where the cluck does
the money come from?
At our first workshop in the Follow the Clucking Money series, we cracked open the spending side of Petaluma's budget — all those tough trade-offs about where the money goes. This time, we're flipping the omelet and looking at the other half of the ledger: where the money comes from in the first place.
Taxes, fees, grants, permits... it all lands somewhere before the city ever spends a dime. We call this Petaluma's Revenue Nest — and we're peeling back the shells to see what's really in there, using the freshly-laid 2026–2027 budget.
Plus, our Follow the Clucking Money tool just got an upgrade — now you can toggle between budgets and compare them side by side. Hatch your own conclusions at followthecluckingmoney.org.
You'll get:
A quick recap of workshop #1, in case you missed it
A first look at what we’ve learned about revenues
A friendly, no‑jargon walkthrough of the city’s biggest revenue hatchlings
A chance to tell us what you want to explore next
Your voice matters. Your curiosity matters. And your participation can help shape what Petaluma if and how we choose to grow our revenues.
Come learn, laugh, and help steer the flock. No experience with budgets required — just curiosity and an appetite.
