The Revenue Nest: Where the cluck does the money come from?
At our first workshop in the Follow the Clucking Money series, we cracked open the spending side of Petaluma's budget — all those tough trade-offs about where the money goes. This time, we're flipping the omelet and looking at the other half of the ledger: where the money comes from in the first place.
Taxes, fees, grants, permits... it all lands somewhere before the city ever spends a dime. We call this Petaluma's Revenue Nest — and we're peeling back the shells to see what's really in there, using the freshly-laid 2026–2027 budget.
