Dawn Haagstad

Dawn brings over two decades of experience leading programs, building partnerships, and developing emerging-talent initiatives for mission-driven organizations in the tech and creative industries. As an independent project manager with Urban Chat, she leads key initiatives such as the Better Petaluma Film Festival and helps strengthen organizational operations, event strategy, and community engagement.

A long-time advocate for equity and access, Dawn has led programs that expand opportunities for underrepresented youth and emerging talent—work that continues to shape her approach to inclusive community-building. She’s excited to contribute her skills to Urban Chat’s mission and support projects that foster smart growth, civic engagement, and community connection.

Dawn and her husband are also working to create a multi-generational co-housing community in Petaluma—an effort that reflects their shared commitment to more inclusive, sustainable, and connected neighborhoods.

Sharon Kirk

Sharon joined Urban Chat in 2017 following a spontaneous meeting with Kevin McDonnell at the Petaluma Engagement Fair (sponsored by PCRC). Her interest in Petaluma city planning stems from her years of living in vibrant, walkable cities including San Francisco and Göteborg, Sweden. Sharon assists with Urban Chat promotional activities and acts as co-chair of the Know Before You Grow educational committee. And despite her hesitation as an introvert, she occasionally hosts events.
